Justin Bieber hit the red carpet of the MTV VMA's looking like a winner. The What Do You Mean singer, who was up for six gongs, arrived at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy in an all-red ensemble with white Vans trainers, energised for his performance.
He told MTV: "I'm excited to share this performance and this new material with my fans around the world. The EMAs are always a blast. I'm glad to be back and it's going to be fun."
The event saw the music industry's A list stars put on a show on the red carpet and on the stage with a range of eclectic outfits and show stopping performances.
Host for the night Ed Sheeran scrubbed up, ditching his usual black t-shirt and donning a suit, as he turned presenter. He told the crowd: "I'm very excited to be here, Italy is one of my favourite countries.. it's nice to be hosting a show here."
Co-host Ruby Rose, singer Ellie Goulding and model Hailey Baldwin displayed some cleavage baring dresses as they led the red carpet arrivals at the 2015 MTV EMAs.
Ellie, who was up for two gongs, Best Song, with Love Me Like You Do, and Best Female wore a dramatic plunging thigh-split satin dress matched with canary yellow hair. For her performance she merged from a giant glass, unfolding diamond in a slinky black dress.
Introducing the 26-year-old, host Ruby Rose said: 'She has a golden name, a silver voice, she's being introduced by a ruby and she's performing in a diamond.'
Ruby wasn't shy either, flashing her chest tattoos in an extreme plunging black top, and topping off the outfit with a cane. She later changed into a spaghetti inspired dress in honour of National Pasta Day.
Hailey Baldwin, who was one of the presenters on the night, turned heads in a mini dress with bold cut-outs. She told MailOnline: "I'm looking forward to seeing Tori Kelly perform... And Bieber, I saw him rehearse and it looks awesome."
Other presenters on the night included Charli XCX, Hailey Baldwin, Tinie Tempah and Mark Ronson, while music fans were treated to live performances from Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, Pharrell Williams, Jason Derulo and Andrea Bocelli.
Singers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis opened the show suspended from the roof singing in front of a picture of a moon.
The second performance of the night was by Jason Derulo, performing his hit Want To Want Me.
Taylor Swift who was unable to attend due to touring has received a record-breaking nine nominations.
Host Ed Sheeran had three nominations, while One Direction also have nominations, with Jessie Ware, Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Dizzee Rascal, Rita Ora and Jess Glynne all up for key awards.
But all eyes were on Justin Bieber who is hotly tipped to sweep the awards.
