Newcastle United star Ayoze Perez is considering his future at St James' Park, having attracted attention from West Ham, Everton and Inter Milan, IBTimes UK understands. The Spaniard signed a new long-term deal with the Magpies on February but could leave Rafa Benitez's side in the coming summer transfer window following the club relegation to the Championship.

The 22-year-old versatile forward moved to Newcastle in 2014 following an impressive campaign in the Spanish second division with Tenerife. Ayoze then turned down offers from both Real Madrid and Barcelona to join their second teams because he wanted to experience the Premier League.

The former Under 21 international enjoyed an impressive start in English football, ending his debut campaign with seven goals in 25 league starts. Mauricio Pochettino tried to lure him to Tottenham Hotspur during last summer's transfer window. Earlier this season, The Telegraph reported that Manchester United considered making a move for him during the January transfer window.

Perez said he was flattered to be linked to the Premier League giants but decided instead to commit his long term future to Newcastle, inking a new deal until 2021.

Now, the forward may have different plans ahead of next season after Newcastle were relegated to the Championship – and he only started in five of their last 10 games of the campaign with Benitez in charge.

As a number of clubs are interested in giving him a chance in the top flight, the 22-year-old seeks reassurance over Benitez's plans for him next season, and the club's intention to return to the Premier League before making final decisions as to his future.

West Ham, Everton and Inter Milan have expressed interest in securing his services if the Magpies agree to cash-in during the coming summer transfer window. Benitez's idea is to keep his compatriot in the squad but the club may negotiate his departure for a fee of around £15m, having paid Tenerife £1.5m two years ago to secure him.

The Hammers are looking to bolster the attack ahead of their debut campaign in the Olympic stadium amid reports linking them with the likes of Carlos Bacca or Liverpool's Christian Benteke. Ayoze could be an affordable option to fill a Diafra Sakho-shaped hole if, as reported, the Senegalese international leaves the club in summer.

Everton are also interested in Perez – following the departure of Roberto Martinez, the future of a number of forwards like Romelu Lukaku, Gerard Deulofeu and Kevin Mirallas look uncertain.
