The singer has revealed that staying sober has helped him stay faithful.

Robbie Williams has confessed that if he was still on the bottle he would have cheated on his wife, Ayda Field.

The Angels hitmaker, who has battled addictions with alcohol and drugs, claims that staying sober has helped him stay faithful.

Williams, who tied the knot in 2010, made the candid disclosure in an interview with Shortlist magazine.

Opening up about playing away from home he said: "It's 100 times easier when you don't drink, and I don't drink.

"If I drank, we'd literally be f****d. If I drank, I could not keep it in my trousers at all."

The 38-year-old father-of-one also insisted that while being with just one woman feels "unnatural" he is learning to deal with it.

"I always have my wife with me. I haven't missed playing around, but I'm still a guy. This will be an ongoing project. Feels unnatural, you know, but so far so good."

The ex-Take That star went on to reveal that he believes that he should be rewarded for not sleeping around.

"You know like on anniversaries women expect you to get them flowers and things? I think every f**king night you haven't stuck your c**k in someone else, you should be given a gold ring."

The couple, who have been together since 2006, welcomed their first child, daughter Theodora Rose Williams, in September.
