Samsung has been constantly releasing its Galaxy devices. First came its flagship smartphone Galaxy S3 and then the Galaxy Note 10.1. Now it is prepping for showcasing its next-gen Galaxy Note at the IFA Mobile Unpacked event scheduled for 29 August.
More devices are said to be in the pipeline. Samsung has been reportedly planning for another Galaxy device dubbed as Galaxy S2 Plus, according to Chilean carrier, VTR. Along with publishing a few photos, it has revealed some of the features of the device.
The Galaxy S2 Plus, according to the leak, is expected to feature a Super AMOLED HD display with screen size slightly bigger than the original Galaxy S2, at 4.52in. The smartphone will have to wait for Android's latest software version-Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Exynos dual-core processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz will power the device with 1GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S2 Plus will come with 16GB storage option and support microSD card for an additional storage space of 32GB. The device is expected to offer Bluetooth v2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The upcoming phone is expected to pack an eight megapixel rear-camera like the Galaxy S2 and S3. The Galaxy S2 Plus will also feature all the applications available at the Play Store. According to the site, the smartphone is carrying a price tag of $355,990 (approximately £227).
A Sam Mobile report suggests the Galaxy S2 Plus will be released by the end of quarter 4.
This is not the first time the Galaxy S2 Plus has made an appearance. According to a Phone Arena report, the Galaxy S2 Plus was listed on An3DBenchXL benchmark database. As noted in the list, the Galaxy S2 Plus was expected to feature a display with resolution measuring 480 x 800pixels and run on Android's older version of software-2.3.4 (Gingerbread). The handset was expected to pack 1.5GHz Exynos processor and reported to debut at the Mobile World Congress event at Barcelona.
