Shadowhunters episode 3
Clary to learn more about her Shadowhunter power in the upcoming episode Freeform

Shadowhunters, Freeform's latest supernatural thriller, seems to be catching the attention of fans. But after airing two episodes on 12 January, the brand new series is on a 15-day hiatus and will not air episode 3 on 19 January. The third episode titled Dead Man's Party will reveal more about Clary's mysterious past and the powers she inherits due to that.

The official synopsis of the episode reveals that the show protagonist, played by Katherine McNamara, will suffer another setback after her best friend Simon is kidnapped by Camille, the leader of the vampires.

The synopsis reads:

With Simon being held captive at The Hotel DuMort, Clary pleads with Jace, Alec and Isabelle to help her rescue her best friend. As the team readies for the mission, Jace helps Clary learn more about her Shadowhunter powers, Isabelle turns to her favorite Seelie for Intel, and Alec begins to question Jace's motives and his place in their partnership.

Meanwhile, a very scared Simon gets very up close and personal with Camille, the leader of the vampire clan.

In the previous episode, Clary turns 18 but what should have been the best day of her life turns into her worst nightmare when she discovers that her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped. She will also learn that she possesses supernatural powers, automatically making her the member of a clan called the Shadowhunters who fight vampires, werewolves and other beasts in order to protect humans.

She eventually gets help from three unknowns, Jace, Alec and Isabelle, who help her learn more about her powers and how she can use them to fight the evil spirit and bring back her mother safely. It turns out that Valentine has kidnapped Jocelyn and is in search of the Mortal Cup.

Jace realises that Clary's memory is the key to find both her mother and the Mortal Cup and in an attempt to revive her memories, they take her to the City of Bones to face the powerful Silent Brothers.

The series is an adaptation of the bestselling adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and will return on Freeform on 26 January.
