Has the latest song from Shahrukh Khan's upcoming film Happy New Year, Manwa Laage, failed to generate the hype that was expected? Well, not really.

The famous SRK-Salman Khan rivalry came into the limelight again when fans started comparing the new song from HNY to Salman starrer Kick's Jumme Ki Raat. Check out some of the tweets from fans below:

Well, looks like fans of both stars are sticking to their guns. Kick song Jumme Ki Raat achieved the title of being 'the most downloaded song online' after its release. "It received more than 5 million hits on YouTube in a very short span," states a Times of India report. But does it stand to lose that title post the release of Manwa Laage?

Here are some some numbers that the Happy New Year team shared with IBTimes UK, regarding the new song:

"Manwa Laage crossed 2.6 million views on youtube in 48 hours. After crossing one million views on youtube in less than 21 hours, it's also the most viewed and most shared video in India in the past 24 hours. The song is one of the fastest to achieve this number."

Farah Khan, director of Happy New Year, said, "I am ecstatic! It's the first song we recorded two years ago. Arijit was relatively lesser known then. Vishal - Shekhar and Irshad Kamil have done a fabulous job and I am happy that people are also loving the picturisation of the song."

The song, which has been sung by Bollywood singers Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh, features Deepika Padukone along with Khan.

Happy New Year will hit theatres on 23 October 2014.
