Stan Wawrinka takes on Dan Evans in the men's singles third round of the 2016 US Open on Saturday (3 September).

Where to watch live

The match starts at 10pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be available in the UK on British Eurosport & Eurosport HD. Live scores and regular updates will be available on US Open's official website.

Overview

World number three Stan Wawrinka has not had the best of times in the run-up to the 2016 US Open, with a back injury leading him to miss the Rio 2016 Olympics. Since then he has put in a series of dispirited performances with his second round defeat at the Cincinnati Masters being a prime example.

However, Wawrinka has pulled up his socks at Flushing Meadows, beating Alessandro Giannessi 6-1, 7-6 (4), 7-5 in the second round on Thursday after coming back from 2-5 down in the second set. What will give the Swiss confidence is that he has always played well at the US Open, making the semi-finals in 2013 and 2015 and the quarter-finals in 2010 and 2014.

Despite his erratic form, the 31-year-old comes into the clash as the favourite to progress.

World number 64, Daniel Evans from Great Britain is one of the three Britons, along with Kyle Edmund and Andy Murray to make it to the third round of the US Open, the most since 1968. The 26-year-old has had a steady if not spectacular season so far, finishing in the third round in Wimbledon and runner-up in the Dallas and Busan events.

Evans has never defeated a top-10 ranked player in his career so far and it is unlikely that is going to change come 3 September.
