Star Wars 8
Star Wars 8 will begin where it left off in The Force Awakens, the meeting between Luke Skywalker and Rey Disney

Fans will have to wait for another year to watch Star Wars 8 which will bring back their favorite Luke Skywalker and Rey. While there were plenty of rumours about Rey and the former Jedi Master's relationship, a new fan theory has emerged.

According to a Reddit user The _Playboy, Daisy Ridley's character has her roots in the royal family. To support his theory, he narrates the back story of the universe where the royals were owned various planets. After the dawn of the First Galactic Empire ruled by Supreme Chancelor Palpatin, the First Order started killing royal families.

"I think Rey is from a royal family, from a planet unknown to the audience. The First Order invaded Rey's homeworld, and wiped them out. Maybe a group of loyal guards escaped with the young Rey, and left her on Jakku for her own safety," he concludes after explaining the possibilities.

An alleged script-leak in August this year suggested that the former Jedi Master saves the little girl Rey from the Empire army and in order to protect her identity he drops her on the deserted planet.

In The Force Awakens, the back story of Ridley's character remains a mystery. The only fact known to fans was that she was on the deserted planet Jakku and seems to have some sort of emotional connection with Luke Skywalker. The space scavenger also realizes her power with Force when she is taken a hostage by Kylo Ren.

She later defeats Kylo by using her Force, much to his surprise. Rey, later embarks on a journey to the oceanic planet Ahch-To where she finally locates Luke and hands him over the lightsaber she got from Maz Kanata.

The Reddit user further explains that Episode 7 mentions the royals multiple times, hinting that Rey might have a strong royal connection and she might play an important part for the Empire and Supreme Leader Snoke in Episode VIII.

However, none of these theories will see the light of day until Disney releases the movie title, synopsis or trailer of the highly anticipated movie. Star Wars Episode VIII features Mark Hamil, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis and Lupita Nyong'o in lead roles and is scheduled to release on 15 December 2017.
