Despite the numerous teasers and two full-length trailers of Justice League, fans were left disappointed when Henry Cavill's Superman remained a no-show during the promotions.

But the DC movie's latest poster has sparked hopes again as Superman stands tall alongside the rest of the league.

Teasing Cavill's superhero, the new poster shows the actor joining the team - Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). The 6-part superhero poster was released as part of promotions for the new Justice League Website launched by DC Entertainment.

In addition to offering a fresh glimpse of the Man of Steel, the promotional image also reassures Superman's return, who was last seen in the 2016 film Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Although Superman's death during the battle of Doomsday broke several hearts, DC movie fans were optimistic about his resurrection in the upcoming Justice League film. Even director Zack Snyder's cryptic comments seemed to indicate that the DC superhero would be back in action soon.

"It's hard to have a Justice League without Superman," Snyder had teased. "It was always a super-intriguing concept to me to have this opportunity to have him make that sacrifice but also have him be this, in a weird sort of way, the why of Justice League: What do you do now with him? What does the team think? What does the world need?"

"All that comes into play. It's fun for us but it'll be interesting for audiences what we do with him," the filmmaker added hinting on Cavill's return.

While Superman's return seems inevitable at this point, the 'how' and 'why' will only be answered when the movie hits theatres on 17 November, 2017.
