Peter Fury, the trainer and uncle of undefeated boxer Tyson, is confident that his fighter can defeat Vitali Klitschko and become the new face of the heavyweight division in 2013.

David Haye has long been waiting for a shot at the WBC champion but it seems as though Fury's camp are confident that they can make the fight happen after the 23-year-old's steady climb up the rankings in the past two years.

Fury remains undefeated in his 20 professional contests and recently defeated veteran American Kevin Johnson in what was supposed to be a final eliminator for the WBC heavyweight title.

However, there have been some concerns that Klitschko will walk away from boxing after entering into the world of politics. The 41-year-old has been undefeated for close to 10 years but Fury's camp are hoping they can convince him to pull on the gloves one more time.

"If we can get Vitali Klitschko for March then we will," Peter told the Manchester Evening News. "We are happy with that. I'm happy to sign up for it. We are ready if Vitali decides to fight on.

"I can see Tyson winning and keeping hold of the world title. He is developing into a serious world class fighter.

"He has so much more to give. Now he just needs polishing because the hard work has been done. It's taken a year to get the technique right and he's on the world stage now."

While Tyson appears on the verge of landing a world title opportunity, his cousin Hughie Fury is slowly making a name for himself in the amateur boxing world after winning gold at the Youth World Championships in America last month.

That victory follows on from his ABA success and Peter is confident that his son can follow in the footsteps of Tyson and one day join him at the pinnacle of the professional game.

"I said from day one that I'm going to groom the next two Klitchkos," said Peter. "That's my ambition - my aim.

"They are both similar sizes and both strapping lads. They are on the right course. Tyson won the bronze in the amateurs and now Hughie has won gold."

With the Klitschko brothers coming towards the end of their extremely long and successful careers it seems that the stage is set for another giant to fill the void, and it could well be Tyson Fury if his camp get their way.

"My full concentration at the moment is Tyson," added Peter. "He's at the pinnacle now. Hughie can have amateur losses and that's fine because he's getting experience all the time.

"We are hoping to take a world title in 2013 and my aim is for him to stay at the top. Tyson will be recognised as the best."
