A man who suffered a heart attack and promised to quit smoking was caught out by his wife on Google street view.

Julie Ryding, 50, from Leasowe, Merseyside, decided to check out the street view after growing suspicious that her husband Donald, 58, had been violating the doctor's instructions and surreptitiously smoking.

I couldn't believe it – there has been no denying it now that we'd seen him smoking. When street view first launched, they didn't blur out faces, but there was no need to with him – he was covered by a cloud of smoke anyways.

Ryding's suspicions grew after finding Hobnob wrappers in her husband's car.

The street view revealed Donald smoking on the driveway.

"I couldn't believe it – there has been no denying it now that we'd seen him smoking. When street view first launched, they didn't blur out faces, but there was no need to with him – he was covered by a cloud of smoke anyways," said Ryding, reported The Telegraph.

"You can't believe the trouble he caused that day. He still smokes, but he has cut down. I've got an exercise regime walking three hours a day – we got three dogs to keep him moving.

"I'd like to lie and say he's been healthy since, but he hasn't quite – although he hasn't eaten a Hobnob since."

Donald, however, found the entire incident rather amusing.

"I couldn't believe it when she got it up on the computer! I'm much healthier now as I'm out walking three miles everyday. I'm still a bit overweight, but healthy."
