Brooklyn Beckham, David Beckham Feud: Romeo Debuts Cursive Tattoo After Brother 'Erases' Dad Tribute
Romeo Beckham has unveiled a new 'Family' tattoo on the back of his neck just days after his older brother Brooklyn covered up tributes to their father David with starfish and life preservers.

There's a new tattoo on Romeo Beckham's neck. Just the word 'Family', done in cursive. Nothing flashy. But timing matters. And the timing here is everything.
The 23-year-old model had the ink completed at Fine Line Hearts Club in Soho this week, with black-and-white photographs shared on Instagram on 8 February. The script sits directly above his existing winged cross design, high on the back of his neck, where it can't be missed. Romeo reposted the images to his Stories. No caption and no explanation needed.
What makes this noteworthy isn't the artistry. It's that his older brother, Brooklyn, has been busy erasing similar tributes from his own skin. Starfish and life preservers now occupy the space where 'Dad' once sat inside an anchor on Brooklyn's upper right arm, alongside the phrase 'Love you Bust,' David's nickname for his firstborn, according to the Daily Mail.
The names of his three siblings that were etched across his left-hand fingers have been obscured by clouds. An insider told the newspaper that laser treatment was involved.
Social media noticed. 'Statement piece,' one user wrote under Romeo's post. Others were less subtle about the 'funny timing.'
Brooklyn Beckham's Dramatic Family Split
The divide has been public since January, when Brooklyn released a blistering six-part Instagram statement declaring he had no interest in reconciliation with his parents. The 26-year-old accused David and Victoria of trying to ruin his marriage to Nicola Peltz since before their April 2022 wedding.
He claimed they controlled narratives through what he called 'performative social media posts' and had pressured him to sign away commercial rights to his name before the ceremony.
'Brand Beckham comes first,' he wrote.
He also alleged his younger brothers had been deployed to attack him on social media before blocking him last summer. Romeo and Cruz haven't addressed that claim publicly. But this tattoo functions as a response of sorts. Romeo's making clear whose side he's on, and it's not Brooklyn's.
The contrast with how the rest of the family operates is striking. Cruz, the youngest at 20, recently visited the same Soho studio with girlfriend Jackie Apostel. He got a 'J' tattooed under his arm whilst she had 'providence' inked on her side, Hello reported. The same tattoo artist, Jesus, handled both Romeo and Cruz's latest work. Cruz previously had the number seven done in Roman numerals on his wrist - David's iconic shirt number and Harper's middle name. In December, Romeo got a cloud sleeve to match one of his father's designs.
These aren't random choices. They're declarations.
Romeo Beckham Picks Sides in Family Feud

What's perhaps most revealing is the silence from David and Victoria. Two decades of carefully managing their public image, and now nothing. Not a word about Brooklyn's allegations, even as their middle son gets 'Family' tattooed on his neck in what can only be read as a public rejection of Brooklyn's position.
When Brooklyn's father-in-law, Nelson Peltz, was asked about the mess at a Wall Street Journal event on 3 February, he played it off. 'Has my family been in the press lately? I haven't noticed that at all,' the billionaire joked. His advice was blunt: 'Stay the hell out of the press. How much good did that do?'
Yet he backed Brooklyn and Nicola. 'My daughter's great, my son-in-law, Brooklyn, is great, and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage,' he told the audience.
Reports suggest that Brooklyn and Nicola no longer communicate directly with David or Victoria. Any contact happens through intermediaries. Brooklyn skipped his father's 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025. He spent Christmas with the Peltzes instead of at the family home. Meanwhile, Romeo's girlfriend, DJ Kim Turnbull, was welcomed to Paris Fashion Week with the Beckhams recently. The lines are drawn.
Whether permanent ink can settle family disputes is questionable. But Romeo's found a way to answer his brother's accusations without saying a word. Sometimes a tattoo is just a tattoo. Other times it's a side chosen, a loyalty declared, a message sent. This is one of those other times.
