Pink Hits Back at Critics After Backlash Over Pro-Israel Post: 'Don't Let Idiots Run Your Day'

Pink appears to be responding to the backlash surrounding her recent pro-Israel post, sharing a series of pointed messages from other creators on Instagram after critics accused her of taking issue with Macklemore's pro-Palestinian performance at an Ed Sheeran concert.

The singer's latest posts did not directly name Macklemore or the controversy, but their timing has drawn attention. Among the messages she shared was a remark urging people not to let others ruin their day and to take control of their own happiness.

Pink Shares Blunt Messages After Pro-Israel Post Backlash

Pink continued the apparent response through a series of posts from her Instagram Stories, reposting artwork and messages about criticism, popularity and ignoring people who disapprove of her.

One message from illustrator @phaedrapeer read: 'DON'T LET IDIOTS RUN YOUR DAY IT'S YOUR DAY RUIN IT YOURSELF.' She also shared a message from @kellifrance that said: 'BEING LIKED BY EVERYONE IS A CLOWN'S JOB.'

She also shared two artworks by @where_is_frances. One features a flamingo carrying the message: 'IM NOT FOR EVERYONE & HONESTLY THAT HAS SAVED ME A LOT OF TIME', while another showed a swan with the words: 'I'M VERY POPULAR WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER MET ME.'

Pink also reposted another artwork from Peer depicting a black cat holding a glass of wine and a cigarette. The accompanying message read: 'IF THEY WANT TO PAINT YOU AS THE VILLAIN THEN POSE.'

In a separate post, she shared a message from @thestylebee that read: 'Not to brag or anything, but my posts are enjoyed by well over 4 or 5 people worldwide!' Another message said: 'what do you mean? probably what i f***ing said'.

Why Pink Drew Criticism Over Macklemore's Concert Set

The posts followed intense criticism of Pink after she shared a message calling on Ed Sheeran to apologise and offer refunds to fans following Macklemore's performance at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 4 September.

Macklemore used his opening set to deliver a pro-Palestinian message, wearing a keffiyeh, speaking about the war in Gaza and repeatedly calling for 'Free Palestine.' He also performed his song Hind's Hall, which is closely associated with his criticism of Israel's military campaign in Gaza.

Pink's decision to share a post calling for refunds divided social media users. Some argued Sheeran should not be held responsible for Macklemore's political views, while others said concertgoers should not be exposed to unexpected political messaging.

Macklemore Defends 'Free Palestine' Message During Sheeran Tour

Macklemore, 43, acknowledged that he was 'scared' to perform Hind's Hall before taking the stage, but said he wanted to use the opportunity to publicly support Palestinians.

He told the MetLife Stadium crowd that he wanted to say 'Free Palestine' and said people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank should know they had not been forgotten.

He also spoke about humanitarian suffering in Lebanon, Cuba, Congo, Sudan and Iran, while criticising US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The performance has prompted further criticism of Macklemore and Sheeran's decision to have him on the tour. The Israeli-American Council subsequently shared a petition on 5 September calling on Sheeran and his tour leadership to remove Macklemore from future dates.

The petition also asked whether his political speech, visual material and performance of Hind's Hall had been approved in advance, and called for clearer boundaries around political messaging at the shows.

For now, Pink's latest Instagram posts have added another layer to the dispute, with the singer appearing to address the criticism without directly naming those involved.
