Brad Arnold's life has come into sharp focus following his untimely death. Arnold served as the singer of the hit American rock band 3 Doors Down. He helped popularise some hit songs, including 'Here Without You', 'When I'm Gone', and 'Kryptonite' among others.

On 7 February, news of his passing shocked the online world. For many years, Arnold had been open and honest about his health battles. However, fans had always hoped that he would be able to recover fully from his illness. Below are some quick facts about Arnold.

Cause of Death

Arnold passed away at the age of 47 following his battle with stage-4 kidney cancer. Last year, the singer shared a video on social media where he discussed his health issues. He said that he had been unwell for a couple of weeks, so he sought medical attention. His doctors later diagnosed him with renal carcinoma that had already metastasised to his lungs and liver.

Despite his diagnosis, Arnold said that he was hoping for a full recovery with God by his side. He also said that he was not frightened after hearing what was happening with his body. However, one of the consequences of his diagnosis involved being forced to cancel their band's upcoming tour.

Everything to Know About Brad Arnold's Wife

Arnold is survived by his wife, Jennifer Sanderford, whom he married in 2009. The couple were once childhood friends who reportedly reconnected on a blind date as adults. In 2008, Arnold proposed to Sanderford by singing one of the lines to his songs.

Over the holidays, Arnold shared a photograph of himself with his wife and their dog celebrating Christmas together. The image shows a much thinner Arnold looking affectionate with Sanderford.

Before marrying Sanderford, Arnold was married to his ex-wife, Terika Roberts. They divorced in 2007.

God and Rodeo

Sanderford works as a professional barrel racer or a rodeo athlete. Her Instagram account is filled with photos of herself riding her horses. Most of her photo captions include references to God, which suggests that she has strong faith.

'Got to sneak off to a jackpot with my Rusty babies. I am so very thankful that God is allowing me to do what I love again and to be on this journey with two horses that mean so much to me is icing on the cake thank you,' she captioned one of her snaps.

Another photo uploaded on her Instagram account features the back of her horse's head.

'The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Psalms 23,' she captioned the snap.

Cryptic Message About Heaven

Arnold and Sanderford never had children but they were devoted parents to their dogs. Months before Arnold's death, he uttered cryptic words about going to heaven following the death of his Golden Retriever, Luna.

The 3 Doors Down frontman shared details about Luna's passing in his anniversary post dedicated to Sanderford. He said that Luna died after her collar became caught in their fence, making it impossible for her to breathe.

'Luna got her collar hung on a fence in our yard yesterday and it cut off her air. She went to wait for us in Heaven. We love you little baby girl,' he wrote.

Months later, Arnold is finally reunited with his beloved dog.
