Ricky Martin surprised fans with his cameo at this year's Super Bowl. Prior to the sports event, there were some speculations suggesting that Lady Gaga would be performing during the half-time show. However, no one expected that Martin would also take the stage. The 54-year-old sang alongside Bad Bunny for a special rendition of 'Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawái'.

Following his Super Bowl half-time show performance, Martin released a statement thanking Bad Bunny for the opportunity to take the stage (or the field) with him. He also said that it was such an honour to be able to perform at the Super Bowl, which was a first for the award-winning singer.

The King of Latin Pop

Martin earned the moniker King of Latin Pop due to his contributions to the Latin community. As one of the most famous Latin singers in the 1990s, he helped popularise Spanish-language music and introduced it to the global stage. He was also the one who helped bridge Latin pop, salsa, and dance, making all three accessible to his English-speaking fans.

Award-Winning Singer and Actor

Martin has been working as a singer for over 30 years. He has won various awards from the Grammys, ALMA, MTV, Latin Grammys, Billboard Music, and more. But what some people may not know is that Martin has also been working as an actor. He has starred in several television shows such as 'General Hospital' and 'American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace'. The latter even earned him an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Antonio D'Amico.

Blessed With Four Children

Outside of his career, Martin is a doting dad to his four children. His twin boys, Matteo and Valentino, were born in 2008. Years later, he was blessed with two more children, Lucia and Renn. All four children were born via a surrogate whilst Martin was still single, so he fathered them on his own.

During an interview with Out magazine, Martin said that it has always been his dream to have a huge family. For many years, he grieved the idea of fatherhood because, as a closeted gay man, he didn't think he could have his own children.

Jwan Yosef Divorce

Martin wed his longtime partner, Jwan Yosef, in 2017. However, in 2023, the couple announced their decision to go their separate ways. In his statement, Martin said that the split was difficult but necessary. He also said that they are committed to continuing their healthy family dynamic for the sake of their children.

During his interview on Telemundo Puerto Rico, Martin revealed that his relationship with Yosef already fallen apart months before the public found out. So, when their divorce became public, the exes had already gone through their grieving process.

'We knew this had to happen for our own good and for the well-being of our children. We're better than ever, and we're single,' he said.

As of writing, Martin is believed to still be single, and it is unclear if he will ever decide to date again.
