Sam Asghari has spoken publicly about his marriage to Britney Spears for the first time in months, offering a notably warm and reflective assessment of their relationship despite their highly publicised split. The model and actor described his time with the pop icon as a 'blessing', choosing not to criticise his former wife amid renewed scrutiny of her personal life.

According to RadarOnline, Asghari's comments arrive shortly after the release of Kevin Federline's memoir, which reignited debate around Spears' wellbeing and personal struggles. While the book has prompted strong reactions across social media, Asghari has taken a markedly different approach, focusing instead on gratitude and respect for their shared past.

Asghari Reflects on Their Relationship

Speaking about his former marriage, Asghari said their relationship unfolded organically, regardless of Spears' global fame. 'Everything just happened so naturally and normal', he explained, adding that it did not matter whether she was 'super famous or not famous at all'. He continued: 'It was a blessing. I fall in love, and I try to make life happen'.

The couple first met in 2016 on the set of Spears' 'Slumber Party' music video and went on to marry in 2022. However, after 14 months of marriage, the pair separated in August 2023, with their divorce finalised in May 2024. Despite the short duration of their marriage, Asghari has been clear that he does not regret their time together. 'The best thing you can do is celebrate the past, appreciate the past, and not dwell on the fact that it's over,' he said. 'Be happy it ever even happened.'

Prenuptial Agreement and Protecting Spears

Asghari also addressed his decision to request a prenuptial agreement before the wedding, framing it as a protective measure rather than a financial safeguard for himself. 'I wanted to make sure she's protected, because throughout her life, everybody – I don't know one person that's ever been in her life that didn't take advantage of her.'

He continued: 'So it's very sad. I wanted to make sure that I'm the person that [didn't] do that.' Asghari also referenced a Persian proverb that has guided his approach to discussing former relationships. Sharing a meal with someone, he explained, symbolises loyalty. As a result, he believes it is wrong to speak ill of people with whom one has shared significant moments.

Moving Forward While Wishing Spears Well

Since the divorce, Asghari has moved on personally and is now in a relationship with Los Angeles real estate agent Brooke Irvine. Nevertheless, he maintains that his past with Spears remains an important chapter in his life. 'I just hope for the happiest for her', he said. 'I celebrate the past, and it's a big part of me, so I think everything should go well for her'.

The remarks mark one of Asghari's most detailed reflections on the relationship since their divorce was finalised, offering a rare glimpse into his perspective at a time when Spears' private life has again become the subject of intense public discussion.
