Several TikTokers were left scratching their heads after visiting Bad Bunny's account for the first time and finding out that the global superstar was blocked on their end. One fan, who just discovered the Puerto Rican rapper and visited his TikTok account for the first time, shared the experience on social media, and surprisingly, many were having the same experience.

Many are now confused as to why the Grammy winner is blocked when they have never interacted with his profile in the first place. The incident has sparked questions about whether it's a technical glitch or whether the artist has been caught in targeted celebrity blocking campaigns. Now, users across the platform are sharing screen recordings documenting the unexplainable phenomenon.

Users Report Unexplained Blocks

A number of TikTok users shared screen recordings after discovering that Bad Bunny had been blocked on their accounts. According to them, they had not visited or searched for his handle before, let alone taken the steps to restrict him. Katie, with TikTok handle @kators88, was the first to notice the incident. She shared the story on TikTok and captioned it with the words, 'This is weird. This is suspicious.'

According to her, she hadn't heard about the 'Me Porto Bonito' singer until she learned that he is performing at the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. Katie started listening to his music and loved it. She visited Bad Bunny's TikTok to check his posts, but to her surprise, he was already blocked. 'How would I ever have him blocked? I've never been to his TikTok before? I didn't even know he existed?' she asked. 'What is up with that? That's crazy.'

It turned out that it was not an isolated incident. Several in the comment section, who haven't followed or visited Bad Bunny, also noticed that he was already blocked in their accounts. TikToker Brandon Conner also checked Bad Bunny's account for the first time and noticed the singer was blocked. 'Personally, I never listen to Bad Bunny ever. So when I went on to his TikTok account to see if I blocked him, and it said that I did block him, I was just confused because I've never been on his TikTok account,' Conner said. 'Something weird is definitely going on.'

Technical Glitches or Mass Campaigns?

Whilst it remains unclear why Bad Bunny was blocked in their accounts, various theories have emerged attempting to explain the incident. Technical glitches are one possibility, with issues potentially arising between TikTok's algorithm and third-party apps that 'clean' social media feeds.

However, others speculate that Bad Bunny could be amongst the victims of mass-blocking campaigns that target high-profile celebrities. If users had previously downloaded and installed a tool to block influential figures during political protests, Bad Bunny may have been included, which is why the auto-block occurred on their end despite not visiting his profile beforehand. Whether it's a glitch or not, the incident involving a celebrity of Bad Bunny's stature has gained significant traction on social media.

Bad Bunny Prepares for Super Bowl

Despite the social media confusion, Bad Bunny remains a dominant force in the global music industry. Many are already excited for his performance at the 2026 Super Bowl on Sunday, 8 February. The artist admitted he had been losing sleep over his halftime show at the NFL championship. 'Last night, I couldn't sleep,' he said during a press conference for the show, admitting he was 'thinking about the Super Bowl at 4am.'

As for his performance, he teased that it would be about unity and healing. 'I know that the world is gonna be happy at this Sunday, and they're gonna have fun, and they're gonna dance and they're gonna have a good time.' Bad Bunny won three awards at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, though attention at the event focused on the accessory on his ring finger, with some fans speculating that he was engaged. Sources said the jewellery didn't mean anything because the singer is single and not seeing anyone.
