Dramatic scenes from China now as police rescued a distraught man who'd climbed onto the outside ledge of his apartment block, all set to throw himself off.

No-one knows what got this man into such a state, but for rumours about family conflicts to the point where he wanted to end his life.

Police surrounded the building in Ningbo City with negotiators trying - but failing to talk the man down, as local people watched. Some even praying.

Watch carefully how this skilful cop positions himself around the corner, without him knowing and then swoop…. He's pinned the building by 3 more cops before being winched up to safety through a window further up! Phew! And all much to the relief of people watching and waiting!
