Angelina Jolie's father Jon Voight has given an update on how she is fairing after filing for divorce from husband Brad Pitt.

The 77-year-old actor also shared his holiday plans for this year, while appearing on the red carpet awards at the Critics' Choice Awards 2016 on 11 December.

As Jolie will be celebrating her first Christmas since filing for divorce in September, he father told Entertainment Tonight that "she's OK. She's holding on".

The Ray Donovan actor also admitted that he was also planning to spend Christmas with his grandchildren. "Christmas is family, and I have lots of family. I'm hoping to see my grandchildren. I'm hoping to see my grandnieces and nephews and be with them. I'm making the plans now. By the way, I'm supposed to be making these plane flights right as we speak," he said.

Although Voight is yet to finalise his travel arrangements, he has already picked out Christmas presents for his grandchildren. He said, "I have a couple of things that I do for the grandkids. They look forward to the same things every year. The kids in New York, we get to see a show. So, I get them all tickets to a show that they like."

Pitt and Jolie recently agreed on a temporary custody agreement involving their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. According to the agreement, the children's physical custody will remain with the actress, while Pitt has been granted "therapeutic visitations".
