Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have been separated for almost two years, but rumors are ablaze that they getting back together. The couple was married for six years and shares six-year-old twins together, Monroe and Moroccan. Carey and Cannon split in 2014.

According to a report in People Magazine, there is hope that the couple will get back together permanently. The friendly exes have become close following the singer's split with Bryan Tanaka, earlier in April.

A source told the publication, "Mariah and Nick are getting along great. Nick spends most of his time with Mariah and the kids. Mariah is great with Nick around. There seems to be hope that they will get back together permanently."

Carey and Cannon reunited on 1 May for a fun-filled day at Disneyland to celebrate the sixth birthday of their twins. However, another insider close to Carey told the outlet that they are nothing more than pals. "Honestly, they are co-parenting," added the insider.

Carey and Cannon both fuelled reunion rumors in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. The Songstress said, "We're together when it counts. We're together for the kids. And I think that's the most important thing."

The former America's Got Talent host echoed similar sentiments and noted, "It's so perfect right now honestly, I'm working on being the best me that I can possibly be and from that I'm working on being the best father that I can be and that's a plate full right there. I love her, I adore her, that's always going to be my dream girl but I think as mature adults I think we just operate better with the way things are right now."
