Taylor Swift is no doubt the proud girlfriend after her DJ beau Calvin Harris was named Glamour magazine's man of the year.

The world's richest DJ accepted the award in person at the London awards ceremony and admitted that he had been "s******g" himself hours before he was due to give his speech.

According to the Mail Online, the 31-year-old said: "I've been s**tting myself all day about what to say but my mum will be so proud to have birthed a man of the year so it was worth the trip for that alone."

He added: "I've never been to anything like this before in my life and I feel it's my responsibility as sole male winner for my speech to be a bit s**t so I'll leave it at that."

Later in the night, the musician admitted in an Instagram post that his win was "unexpected", writing:

Harris's triumph comes after a successful year which has seen the DJ earn two more number one hits with club anthems Summer and Blame, adding to his ever-growing collection of chart-toppers.

The producer has also won a bevy of awards over the last 12 months, including best dance/electronic artist at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards and dance song for Summer at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

No doubt giving his chances of winning a huge boost was the DJ's sizzling underwear campaign for Emporio Armani, which earned him a whole new horde of female admirers.

While Harris represented the men, various female celebrities were honoured at the awards with US actress Kaley Cuoco Sweeting scooping the comedy actress gong, while Fearne Cotton was named radio personality just weeks after she left Radio 1's Breakfast Show.

Scandal star Kerry Washington jetted into the UK for a whirlwind visit to accept her international TV actress award, while Rita Ora was named TV personality following her stint as a coach on The Voice.
