Chelsea finally managed to break their jinx at Villa Park by securing a convincing 4-2 victory against an Aston Villa side who were probably still recovering from the tragic news of their skipper Stiliyan Petrov being diagnosed with acute leukemia.

Chelsea, who started attacking right from the start, took the lead in the ninth minute, when striker Daniel Sturridge scored from a very well struck close range shot.

In the 51st minute Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic put the Blues two up with a superb strike through a Juan Mata cross following a corner.

The Villans, who never really gave up, got right back into the game after two brilliant goals by James Collins and Eric Lichaj, in the 77th and 80th minutes, respectively.

However, after just three minutes Ivanovic again put his side in front via a brilliant header, assisted by Torres. The cherry on the cake was Fernando Torres' 90th minute goal following a fast break and a Sturridge assist.
