A 200-plus page document purporting to be the hacked Democratic Party research file compiled on GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has been leaked online. In it, the controversial figure is branded the "misogynist in chief", "out of touch" and "a liar".

The document was reportedly leaked to both The Smoking Gun and Wikileaks by a hacker called "Guccifer 2.0" and outlines talking points and strategies used by democratic candidates during the election campaign.

The release comes after it was reported that Russian state-sponsored hackers had stolen the sensitive files from the Democratic National Committee computer networks, where they had been monitoring chats and emails for over a year.

Marked "confidential" and bluntly titled "Donald Trump Report", the document contains a number of lengthy descriptions and assertions about Trump, his policies and his life as a businessman. Interesting titles include "Trump is loyal only to himself", "Trump is a liar", "Bad Businessman" and "Trump has repeatedly offended minorities with demeaning comments".

"There's no nice way of saying it – Donald Trump is running a campaign built on fear-mongering, divisiveness, and racism," the document states. "His major policy announcements have included banning all Muslims from entering the US, and calling Mexican immigrants "rapists" and "drug dealers" while proposing a US-Mexico border wall. And Trump's campaign rallies have become a reflection of the hateful tone of his campaign, with protesters being roughed up and audience members loudly calling for violence."

In an email to The Smoking Gun, the alleged hacker said: "Hi. This is Guccifer 2.0 and this is me who hacked Democratic National Committee. Guccifer may have been the first one who penetrated Hillary Clinton's and other Democrats' mail servers. But he certainly wasn't the last. No wonder any other hacker could easily get access to the DNC's servers."

The references to "Guccifer" are in relation to a Romanian hacker, whose real name is Marcel Lehel Lazar, who breached the private email server of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2013. Most recently, he pleaded guilty to cybercrime-related charges on 25 May.

The DNC hacker continued: "First I breached into mail boxes of a number of Democrats. And then using the info collected I got into committee servers." He added the information stolen includes financial reports, donor lists, internal memos and plans against Republicans.

The inclusion of financial details directly contradicts the comments made by the DNC following the unprecedented election breach, when officials denied such data was compromised. One document, if legitimate, clearly shows a number of high-profile donors to the Democratic Party.

Furthermore, the hacker claimed that more "secret documents" from Hillary Clinton's PC were stolen from the time she worked as the Secretary of State. These, however, have not yet been made public in full.

In addition to the Trump file, Guccifer 2.0 created a Wordpress website to host a number of other stolen files - including one marked 'secret' titled 'Promises and Proposals: National Security and Foreign Policy'. "The main part of the papers, thousands of files and mails, I gave to Wikileaks. They will publish them soon," the hacker stated.

After the release of the document, Trump appeared to accuse the Democratic Party of hacking and leaking its own intelligence research.

"We believe it was the DNC that did the 'hacking' as a way to distract from the many issues facing their deeply flawed candidate and failed party leader," a statement said. "This is all information that has been out there for many years [with] much of it false and/or entirely inaccurate. Too bad the DNC doesn't hack Crooked Hillary's, 33,000 missing emails."
