British romantic comedy star Hugh Grant is switching to a completely new role!

The "Bridget Jones" star is all set to provide the voice-over for a cartoon character, in his first-ever animated film, "The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists".

Grant will play the role of the Pirate Captain in the animated series.

"It is a fantastic honour to be in an Aardman film, a privilege. I have watched their films all my life, loved them and admired them, and I was just worried I would let them down. I love the film - it may be my favourite film I have ever made," Hugh was quoted as saying to the Evening Post by ThisisBristol.

The actor meanwhile also said he would not be averse to starring in "Bridget Jones 3". According to the Belfast Telegraph, Grant thoroughly enjoyed his time with fellow stars Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth.

"The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists" reaches theatres on 28 March.
