Janet Jackson has opened up about her split from Wissam Al Mana. The couple were married for almost 5 years and welcomed a baby boy Eissa in January, before announcing separation in early April.

Jackson took to Twitter to post a personal video for her fans. She says, "Hey you guys, it's me, Jan, just in case you don't recognise me since I have put on quite a few since I had the baby. But I thank god for him, he's so healthy, so beautiful, so sweet, so loving, such a happy baby."

Addressing her split from al-Mana, the Rhythm Nation singer said, "I just want to keep it real with you guys for a second. Yes, I separated from my husband. We are in court and the rest is in God's hands."

Apart from addressing her split, the-50-year-old also had an announcement regarding her music. She said, "I'm continuing my tour, as I promised. I'm so excited you guys, so excited!"

Previously a report in People Magazine stated that the couple is not fighting, and are working together to co-parent their three-month-old baby boy, Eissa. A source close to Jackson family told the magazine, "Janet really trusts Wissam and he trusts her. She and Wissam are working together to co-parent. They have a strong friendship. There is no fighting between them."

"They are very disciplined and the baby is already on a strict schedule," the source added. According to the insider, there is no bad blood between the Qatari businessman and the Jackson family. The friend alleged that they all "like Wissam and see that he is a great father".

The family friend also revealed that Janet is planning to stay put in London for now. "It seems like she will stay in London for now while the baby is so young, but I can see her eventually moving back to the States. Janet is doing really well. She is just so happy to have her baby," the friend said.
