Rick and Morty season 3
Rick and Morty season 3 will premiere by the end of 2016

Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon, alongside co-creator/executive producer and voice of Rick Sancheza and Morty Smith, Justin Roiland appeared at San Diego Comic-con to present a first look of season 3 and share some details about its premiere episode.

Harmon teased that the season 3's premiere presented welcomed creative challenges and has "been changed a thousand times" reported Collider. The creator also said that episode 1 will tie up loose ends and added, "Episode 301 is the least compatible with the new viewer, because we have so many loose ends to tie up."

Harmon although didn't share much about season 3 plot, but claimed that this season will be "the most epic so far". Harmon and Roiland also share their voice guest star wish list, which involves names like Vin Diesel and Gary Coleman.

For Roiland, "it was David Bowie for the past two seasons, but sadly that won't happen now. Dom DeLuise I think would be nice, or Gary Coleman." But Harmon had a particular actor in mind. "I just want to meet Vin Diesel. I know he plays D&D so I just want to have a conversation with him about doing it."

The first look at season 3 was also released at the event, which features first look at Rick, in an animated version. The teaser sees Rick trying to escape a laboratory, and coming across a swarm of lab rats in his escape route.

"Hey listen, I know this is your world not mine, the sooner I can get out, the sooner I can go back to taking big craps and you can go back to subsisting on them," Rick tells the rodent. The genius scientist builds a suit out of the rat body and then goes on a war with all rodents, and gets out of the situation by slicing, smashing them in a violent Rick kind of way.

The genius scientist builds a suit out of the rat body and then goes on a war with all rodents, by slicing, smashing them in a gleefully violent Rick kind of way.

Season 2 of Rick and Morty ended with Rick selflessly giving himself up and getting detained in a maximum security prison. The Smith family– Beth, Jerry, Summer and Morty — returned back to Earth, which is not the same, as it has been taken over Galactic Federation.

With Harmon teasing that season 3 episode 1 will tie up loose ends, does this mean the Smith family will bust out Rick from prison? A premiere date for the Adult Swim show's season 3 has not yet been announced.
