British comedian Sacha Baron wants to dress as a Dictator for the Oscars 2012 awards function, the character he plays in his latest movie, but the Academy has not approved it and hence Sacha might face a ban from the Oscars this year.

"We haven't banned him. We're just waiting to hear what he's going to do," an academy spokesman told the Hollywood Reporter. The Academy had invited Baron Cohen this year as part of the ensemble cast for Martin Scorsese's 3D fantasy Hugo, which is up for 11 awards.

This is not the first time Baron has dressed up like this. He uses award functions to promote his movies. He was invited to present an award at the Oscars in 2007 but opted out after being refused permission to do so while dressed as Borat, his earlier and perhaps best-known creation.
