Shah Rukh Khan has landed himself in a soup once again after he announced the date of release for his upcoming movie Dear Zindagi. Reports suggest that the movie that stars the Bollywood superstar alongside Alia Bhatt is all set for a box office clash with Vidya Balan starrer Kahani 2, which is also scheduled for the same release date — 25 November 2016.

Now, this is clearly not the first time that the King of Bollywood has faced such a crisis when it comes to BO clashes, despite all his marketing strategies. In 2015, his comic film Dilwale's collections were affected when it was pitted against the period film Bajirao Mastani, starring Deepika Padukone.

Not only did the clash with the historic film affect the success of the Rohit Shetty-directed crime comedy, it also forced Khan to re-consider his tactics when it came to scheduling his movies, as per reports.

Following the Dilwale drama, the 50-year-old actor ran into another controversy recently, when it looked like his ambitious action-thriller, Raees, would clash at the box office with Kaabil, starring Hrithik Roshan.

In order to resolve the situation amicably, Khan even paid a visit to Rakesh Roshan — who is the producer of Kaabil — but his efforts were in vain, as the actor-cum-producer went ahead with his Republic Day release (26 January 2017).

"Met friend/mentor/family after many a days. Mr. R.Roshan reminded me...it's not important to do 2 much, it's important to get 1 right. Thx sir," the Fan actor later wrote on his Twitter account.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the sequel to the 2012 hit thriller Kahaani had announced its date of release early this year. But, King Khan took to Twitter on 19 July to announce the date for Dear Zindagi, a romantic film helmed by Gauri Shinde, who came into the limelight for her critically acclaimed movie English Vinglish.

Joining Khan in his romantic movie are actors Bhatt, Ali Zafar, and Aditya Roy Kapoor. On the other hand, Kahaani 2, directed by Sujoy Ghosh will feature Arjun Rampal alongside Balan. The BO clashes might mean more options for the movie buff, but it is to be seen, who blinks first in terms of rescheduling the dates.
