After a brief lull over the summer, numerous television shows are back for the 2016-17 season, promising more drama and thrill for fans to engage themselves in. Of our top picks, The Big Bang Theory kicked off its latest season on 19 September, along with Gotham, Lucifer and The Voice.

Get set for season 8 of Modern Family, season 3 of Empire and season 18 of Law & Order: SVU that premiere on Wednesday (21 September). A day later comes season 13 of Grey's Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder (season 3) and Fox's new show Pitch.

On Friday, 23 September tune in for a number of new shows such as MacGyver on CBS and Fox's The Exorcist along with season 3 of Emmy award winning show Transparent.
