Actress Julie Graham has been left "devastated" following the suicide of her husband.

Joseph Bennett, who was also an actor, was found hanging from a tree in Richmond Park, South West London.

He believed to have died a month ago, and his family have already held his funeral, the Sunday Mirror reported. News of his death has only just emerged, although he died on 13 April.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "A man in his mid-40s was pronounced dead at the scene. A report has been submitted to the coroner's officer."

Bennett, 44, appeared in films Howards End, The Last Minute, and Swing Kids (1993), and TV shows such as The Bill and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

He married Julie Graham, 49, in June 2002, and they have two children, aged nine and 11.

Graham has appeared in dozens of films and TV shows, including Tower Block, The Bletchley Circle, and At Home With The Braithwaites.

She is set to appear in sitcom Benidorm from next year.

In an interview shortly after the couple wed, Graham said: "I knew very quickly that Joe was the one. I'm absolutely nuts about him. I've never felt like this about anyone before. This is the happiest I have ever been."

When asked about the tragedy, an ITV spokesman said: "We have no official comment to make."
