First it was music and now young Willow Smith can tick the fashion world off her list after making her debut as the new face of Marc Jacobs.

The 14-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith has been tapped to front the brand's Autumn/Winter 2015 campaign alongside veteran pop star Cher.

In the first image released from the campaign, photographed by David Sims and styled by Katie Grand, the Whip My Hair singer looks every inch the professional model clad in a metallic coat teamed with a Victorian-style full, pleated skirt while posing on a high stool.

Praising Willow's natural modelling skills, designer Jacobs said in an Instagram post: "I have always preferred collaborating with the people who inspire me to give new life to the clothes we show on our runway.

"Beauty, style and talent know no age," he added before describing Willow as "talented, stylish and charming".

The youngster is in good company at the fashion house as the likes of Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Jessica Lange, Miley Cyrus, Dakota Fanning and Sofia Coppola have also modelled for the brand in the past.

In her advertisement, Cher, 69, sports an equally gothic look to her younger co-star, donning a leather jacket and an over-sized black skirt.

The partnership between Willow and Cher may come as a surprise given the large age gap but Marc Jacobs is the latest in the line of major designer labels that have chosen mature women to front their campaigns.

In January 2015, 80-year-old literary icon Joan Didion was named as the new face of Celine, while just a couple of days later, 71-year-old singer Joni Mitchell fronted an Yves Saint Laurent advertisement.

Versace CEO Donatella Versace also swapped labels to model for Givenchy at the age of 60 in April 2015.

It looks as though Willow is focusing on her blossoming career for the foreseeable future, which will come as a relief to her mother, Pinkett Smith, who recently admitted she does not want her daughter or 16-year-old son Jaden to settle down.
