Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards split: Former One Direction star 'chatting' with Zendaya

Former One Direction star Zayn Malik is reportedly moving on in his love life and has been in constant touch with Zendaya.

According to a report in The Sun, Malik has been messaging the 18-year-old Disney star since discovering she was keen to work with him.

"Zayn is talking to a lot of ladies very casually, but Zendaya is the most high-profile," a source said.

"He said they should get in the studio together as they both have a similar R&B vibe, and he's been talking about fashion as she's in London working with Vivienne Westwood."

"It's just chatting at the moment but his pals think they'll meet up to record something soon," the insider added.

This comes after Malik recently called off his engagement with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards.

Malik and Edwards started dating in December 2011 after meeting on the set of The X Factor. The couple who got engaged in August 2013, were reportedly planning to get married at Disneyland Paris in June.

In an interview with E!, Edwards was asked how she is doing after the split, to which she replied: "I'm good, thank you."

After five years with the group, Malik announced he is quitting the British boy band in March.

One Direction fans had blamed Edwards for the 22-year-old singer's decision to quit the boy band.
