Some Beyoncé fans are watching 4 September 2026 for a possible clue about the third instalment of her three-act project as the singer turns 45. The date has attracted fresh speculation because it is also the 20th anniversary of B'Day, although Beyoncé has not announced an Act III release date or confirmed that the project will be a rock album.

The birthday is already tied to an official Beyoncé release. Parkwood Entertainment announced in July that the release of 'Morning Dew (Donk)' began a 60-day countdown to Beyoncé's birthday and the 20th-anniversary reissue of B'Day. The anniversary edition is scheduled for 4 September, two decades after the album's worldwide release on her 25th birthday.

That confirmed release has given fans another reason to focus on the date, but there is no official evidence that Act III will arrive alongside it.

Why 4 September Has Fans Watching

Beyoncé introduced Renaissance in 2022 as part of a three-act project. Cowboy Carter followed in March 2024 as act ii. She has not publicly announced the title, release date or musical direction of the third instalment.

That information gap has fuelled online theorising. In an October 2025 Reddit discussion, one fan pointed to the recurring significance of the number four in Beyoncé's life and career, citing her 4 September birthday, Jay-Z's 4 December birthday, their 4 April wedding date and her 2011 album 4.

The same commenter suggested that 4 September could be used for a teaser, single or announcement rather than necessarily a full album release. The fan also floated May 2026 as a possible window, but that prediction passed without an Act III announcement.

More recent Reddit discussions have kept 4 September in play. An August 2026 theory thread included a suggestion that Act III could arrive on Beyoncé's birthday, while a September discussion featured fans predicting that something Beyoncé-related could happen on the date. Other commenters were more sceptical and said they did not expect Act III this year.

The disagreement is important. The Reddit posts demonstrate active fan speculation, not a consensus or evidence of Beyoncé's plans.

The timing also comes with a genuine anniversary. B'Day was released worldwide on 4 September 2006, making the 2026 date its 20th anniversary. Parkwood has directly linked this year's birthday to the reissue, providing a confirmed explanation for the current countdown.

Rock Album Theory Remains Unconfirmed

Speculation about Act III has also centred on its possible sound. Rock and rock 'n' roll have become prominent fan theories, with listeners trying to interpret Beyoncé's imagery, performances and musical references for clues.

However, Beyoncé has not publicly confirmed that the third act will be a rock project. Reports about a possible rock direction remain based on fan interpretations rather than an album announcement.

The theory partly reflects the contrasting musical approaches of the first two acts. Renaissance, released on 29 July 2022, drew heavily from dance and club traditions. Cowboy Carter, released on 29 March 2024, explored country, folk, Americana and other strands of American music.

Fans have consequently speculated that the third instalment could examine another genre with deep roots in Black American music. Rock has emerged as one of the most persistent possibilities, but other theories have circulated as well.

For that reason, neither the genre nor the release date should be presented as settled. Beyoncé's official website continues to identify Cowboy Carter as act ii, while no verified announcement has provided a title or timetable for the next instalment.

What is confirmed for 4 September is Beyoncé's 45th birthday and the 20th-anniversary B'Day reissue. The suggestion that Act III could also arrive, or that it will be a rock album, remains fan speculation unless Beyoncé or her representatives say otherwise.
