The Justice Department released a new batch of Epstein files that include more names amongst high-profile figures. Among those mentioned are rappers Jay-Z and Pusha T, but are they really involved?

Jay-Z and Pusha T have been named in the latest batch of three million documents that were released by the DOJ. The rappers are among the several high-profile individuals that have been linked to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Aside from Jay-Z and Pusha T, notorious producer Harvey Weinstein was also named in the newest batch of documents, which begs the question of what have they allegedly done.

How Jay-Z and Pusha T are Implicated

While yes, Jay-Z and Pusha T are named in the latest batch of documents related to Epstein, their alleged involvement stems from unverified claims. Their names do not appear in Epstein's personal flight logs. The claims date back to calls made to the FBI in October 2019, and there has been no confirmation of a follow-up investigation done by the FBI.

One of the unverified tips claimed to have been at an Epstein-linked location mentioning names including Shawn Carter, which is Jay-Z's real name. Another tip alleged that they were drugged at a party in which Pusha T was present.

'In approximately 1996, [redacted] resided with [redacted] in [redacted]. An unknown man abducted [redacted] from her home where she later awoke in the presence of Harvey Weinstein and Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) while Weinstein had inserted his fingers into [redacted]. [Redacted] believes she was in Epstein's mansion in Florida' said one tip.

'[Redacted] attributed the drugging as frequently performed by persons assigned as handlers...Among her handlers, [redacted] identified the artist Pusha T' said the other tip.

Present But Not Directly Involved

The two calls claimed the two rappers were present, yet stopped short of accusing them. There has been no evidence of wrongdoing by the two rappers presented to authorities. However, as the tips were made in 2019, there is no solid evidence nor clear timestamp of events.

Still, this does not suggest that Jay-Z and Pusha T did or did not do anything. Another detail to note was that Pusha T was in his late teens at the time of the alleged tip, and Jay-Z had also just released his debut album. Thus both were mostly unknown to the public and there are no records of Jay-Z and Weinstein together in Miami.

It should also be considered that claims in 2019 were during the time the FBI kept its communication lines open to gather more information related to Epstein. These reports could also be made by anyone.

Other Names Mentioned

The other high-profile names that have appeared in the latest batch of Epstein files include Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, Tesla/SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch. President Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton have previously been named in the released files linked to the investigation into the now-deceased sex offender.

'More than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images are included in today's additional publication. Combined with prior releases, this makes the total production nearly 3.5 million pages released in compliance with the Act,' the Justice Department said in its press release of the new batch of files.
