Jennifer Lawrence: I'm Going Through Meltdown Because of Fame
She may be an Oscar award-winning actress and one of the most desirable women in the world, but Jennifer Lawrence has admitted that behind the scenes she is not coping well with fame.
In a candid new interview with Vogue magazine, the 22-year-old Silver Linings Playbook star revealed that her celebrity status has triggered a meltdown.
"I teeter on seeming ungrateful when I talk about this," she says in the September issue. "But I'm going through a meltdown about it lately. All of a sudden, the entire world feels entitled to know everything about me.
"I am just not okay with it. It's as simple as that. I am just a normal girl and a human being and I haven't been in this long enough to feel like this is my new normal. I'm not going to find peace with it."
She also confessed that although she always longed for a relatively normal life, while she was growing up in Kentucky a part of her knew that she was always going to be a star.
The Best Actress Oscar-winner said that she used to "lie in bed and wonder" about what would make her well-known.
"It wasn't a vision. But as it's happening, you have this buried understanding: Of course.
"I was a weirdo. I wasn't picked on or anything. And I wasn't smarter than the other kids. That's not why I didn't fit in. I've just had this weird anxiety. I hated recess. I didn't like field trips. Parties really stressed me out."
Lawrence covers Vogue in a black dress and smoky eye make-up. She completes the look with tousled blonde hair.
The interview is carried in Vogue's September issue, which goes on sale on 20 August.
