Andy Byron, the CEO of data software firm Astronomer, is facing public scrutiny after a viral kiss cam moment showed him in an intimate embrace with a colleague who is not his wife. The incident occurred during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Boston on Wednesday, 16 July, and has since ignited a media firestorm.

The stadium's jumbotron captured Byron with his arms around a woman during the show. When the kiss cam spotlighted the pair, both looked stunned. Byron quickly tried to duck behind a barrier, while the woman covered her face with her hands. Concertgoers captured the moment on their phones, and the footage rapidly circulated on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter).

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin even commented from the stage: 'Oh look at these two... Either they're having an affair or they're very shy,' according to The Sun.

The Woman in the Video Is Not His Wife

Social media users were quick to identify that the woman with Byron was not his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, who works as Associate Director of Lower School and the Hope Graham Program Admission at Bancroft School in Massachusetts. The couple reportedly live in New York with their two children.

Following the viral video, Megan's public Facebook page was flooded with messages of support, with users tagging her in posts and expressing concern. Some speculated about the state of their marriage after Megan appeared to remove 'Byron' from her display name.

Who Is Kristin Cabot?

The woman seen in the video has been identified as Kristin Cabot, Astronomer's Chief People Officer. She joined the company in November 2024 and has a long career in human resources, having held leadership roles at Neo4j, Proofpoint, and ObserveIT.

Her LinkedIn profile describes her as someone who aligns people strategy with business goals to drive growth and culture.

Cabot has not commented publicly on the incident. Her visibly embarrassed reaction during the kiss cam moment has only intensified online speculation about the nature of her relationship with Byron.

A CEO in Crisis

Byron, 50, took the helm of Astronomer in mid-2023. The company, known for its open-source DataOps platform, has grown rapidly under his leadership and was recently valued at over £780 million ($1 billion). Before Astronomer, he held executive roles at Lacework and Cybereason.

Until now, Byron had largely stayed out of the limelight. But the kiss cam incident has thrown his private life into the public domain and could impact his role at a company built on trust, data security and strong internal culture.

As of writing, neither Byron, Cabot nor Astronomer has released an official statement. The company has also not responded to media requests for comment.

What's Next?

It remains unclear whether the viral moment will have long-term professional consequences for either Byron or Cabot. For now, the public continues to dissect the footage, while questions about workplace conduct and personal ethics swirl.

Megan Kerrigan Byron has stayed silent, and the couple's marital status has not been formally addressed. What is clear is that a seemingly light-hearted concert moment has become a reputational crisis with no easy resolution.
