North Korea's state-run television KRT broadcast video on Wednesday (September 11) of its leader Kim Jong-un watching a concert in Pyongyang on Monday (September 9) to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the country's founding.

Kim Jong-un is the third member of his family to rule North Korea and is believed to be 30 years old. He was effectively anointed as his father's successor in 2010, despite the fact he is the third son.

KRT said the event given by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces was held on Monday amid easing tensions on the Korean peninsula.

Tensions on the peninsula reached their peak in February when North Korea threatened nuclear and missile strikes against South Korea and the United States after the imposition of U.N. sanctions for a nuclear weapons test.

Former U.S. basketball player Dennis Rodman who completed a controversial trip to visit Kim and his wife earlier this month, was reported by various U.S. and British media outlets to have let slip that the secretive couple had had a baby last year.
