The latest Lionel Richie health update comes after the Grammy-winning performer checked himself into a local hospital following his Saturday night show at The Muny in Forest Park. Initial reports said doctors were considering possible mild dehydration before TMZ reported on Tuesday that further testing was being carried out in connection with possible cardiac issues.

During that performance, Richie told the audience that he was feeling dizzy and later ended the concert early. Paramedics met him backstage before he was taken to hospital.

The June incident resulted in planned concerts in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio, being postponed rather than cancelled. Both performances have since been rescheduled, according to Richie's official website.

Richie later returned to performing and reassured supporters about his recovery. His comments about dizziness during that June show should not be confused with what happened in St. Louis more than two months later.

The 29 August Muny concert was also a separate engagement rather than another date on the main Earth, Wind & Fire tour. The St. Louis venue had promoted Richie's appearance as a standalone concert closing its 2026 summer season.

Despite the latest hospital reports, Richie's official website continues to list his next performance for 26 September at Chase Center in San Francisco alongside Earth, Wind & Fire. No cancellation or postponement of that date is currently shown on his official schedule.

The site also lists the rescheduled Chicago concert for 30 September and Columbus for 2 October.

Richie is then scheduled to play six shows at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas across October and November. His current itinerary also includes a 19 December appearance at Nubank Parque in São Paulo, Brazil.

Whether any of those performances will be affected by the latest hospitalisation remains unclear. Neither Richie nor his representatives have publicly announced changes to the schedule, while reports about cardiac-related testing remain based on unnamed sources rather than an official medical statement.
