Brazilian international Wilian has called on Liverpool to bid for his services. The 25-year-old is presently with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, whom he joined in January after considerable speculation over a mid-season move to the Premier League.

The Mail Online has linked Brendan Rodgers with a £35m move for the midfielder, who is also being courted by Tottenham. Willian's departure from Anzhi comes after club owner Suleyman Kerimov's refusal to invest more on high profile signings.

Willian

Willian signed from Ukranian champions Shakhtar Donetsk but is believed to be desperate for regular football in a top European league. The midfielder wants to play a part for his country in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and believes a move to England will be his best chance to convince Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari to consider him for a place in the squad.

"There are conversations, and I am hoping in the next few days for an offer from a club like Liverpool. If it is Liverpool, then they are a great club. The news came as a real shock, but I'm calm about it and hoping for the best, because I've been told they will help the players to go, if they get a good offer. The players have been told in six months' time the club will move back to Makhachkala [Anzhi currently play their home games in Moscow], they will bring in more Russian players and the foreign players can go, if they get the right offers," WiIlian said.

"It's not true that we will be allowed to leave for nothing. But the owner has said if he gets an offer close to what he paid for the players, then they can go. So I am hoping there will be something from Liverpool, because England has a league that I've dreamed of playing in," he added.

Chelsea and Tottenham are also believed to be interested in the player and are likely to challenge Liverpool for his signature. Brendan Rodgers is looking for a marquee signing this summer and is likely to move in for Willian after missing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Borussia Dortmund. The player revealed that he does not have any idea what the club value him at but believes that a move to the Premier League will be good for him image.

"I think it would be good for my image. I would grow professionally in the Premier League, and it can be a showcase for me in a World Cup year. I know there have been some conversations, but I do not know what the valuation is. I have talked with the club and we have agreed it is better I don't play in the team at the moment, and I am hoping it will be resolved soon," Willian concluded.
