Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 12:45pm GMT. Live coverage is on BT Sport 1. Radio commentary of the game will be on BBC Radio 5 Live. Catch the highlights of the game on Match of the Day on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:20pm GMT.

Overview

Liverpool come into this game after their 5-0 crushing win over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. The result saw the north London club's board show the exit door to Andre Villas-Boas after a poor run in the league in recent times.

The Reds' star player Luis Suarez continued his impressive form as he was on the score sheet twice, while goals from Jordan Henderson, John Flanagan and Raheem Sterling saw Brendan Rodgers seal three points.

Meanwhile, Cardiff enter this weekend's fixture after their 1-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion in the last league tie. Peter Whittingham's second half goal was the difference between the two sides as the result gave a much needed boost to the Welsh club and their manager.

Mackay's future at the club remains uncertain after rumours suggest that the relationship between the manager and Cardiff chairman Vincent Tan has broken down. Cardiff are 15th in the table with 17 points while Liverpool are second with 33 points from 16 games.

What They Say

Brendan Rodgers: "The squad we have at the moment is still relatively small, we have got a few players out. But I'll always look from within, like I have done whenever we have had injuries, when young Jon Flanagan came into the team or Raheem Sterling came into the team."

Sian Branson (Cardiff Spokesperson): "We set up the group 10 months ago because we couldn't sit back and watch the desecration of our football club. We want to enjoy being in the Premier League, but right now we can't because the club is being run like a toy."
