Tom Huddlestone is close to joining Stoke on a season-long loan deal as Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas continues to ring the changes at White Hart Lane.

The central midfielder has today arrived at the Stoke training ground to have his medical and complete the necessary paper work that will seal his move to the Potters.

Stoke winger Jermaine Pennant was the one to reveal the news as he took to Twitter to confirm that Huddlestone was all set to complete his move from Tottenham.

"[sic] Morning ladies n gents.... I walked in training and got a shock saw my friend Tom Huddleston.... On loan till end of season good signing," tweeted Pennant.

"Yes it's true he's going to have a medical later if it's all good we have got him till the end of the season."

There is yet to be an official announcement from either club involved in the deal, but it seems the exodus of players is well under way after Sebatien Bassong was allowed to join Norwich, while Spurs also accepted an offer from QPR for Michael Dawson.

It has been a busy few days for Tottenham with Emmanuel Adebayor finally completing his permanent move to the club to become the third signing of the summer after Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jan Vertonghen.

With Tottenham ringing the changes it seems as though Huddlestone will have to prove his worth to Villas-Boas while playing at Stoke.

Last season he missed much of the campaign through injury and only last month made his first appearance for the club in more than 10 months when he played in a pre-season friendly against Stevenage.

The 25-year-old was previously a regular under Harry Redknapp after signing from Derby County back in 2005 and has made more than 120 league appearances for Tottenham.
