Victoria Beckham has been accused of controlling behaviour by her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, who claims he grew up with significant anxiety due to her influence. In a lengthy social media post, the 26-year-old made striking allegations about an awkward moment at his wedding to Nicola Peltz, where he expected to share his first dance with his wife but ended up dancing with his mother instead.

The incident has sparked speculation that Victoria may have orchestrated the controversial moment with performer Marc Anthony, who was entertaining guests at the 2022 ceremony. Several wedding attendees have since offered accounts that suggest the fashion designer knew what was about to unfold.

DJ Fat Tony's Account

DJ Fat Tony, who was present at the wedding, told ITV's This Morning on Friday that Brooklyn's version of events was largely accurate. According to the DJ, Anthony asked 'the most beautiful woman' in the room to join him on stage for a dance, selecting Victoria from the crowd.

Brooklyn and Peltz had anticipated their first dance as a married couple, but were surprised when Brooklyn instead danced with his mother. The DJ revealed that Peltz left the room in tears following the incident. Anthony also reportedly instructed Brooklyn to place his hands on Victoria's hips, describing it as 'a Latin thing'.

Speculation Over Pre-Planning

During an interview on Talk TV, host Mark Dolan asked editor Hannah Hope whether Victoria should have declined Anthony's invitation to the stage. Hope suggested that most mothers-in-law who understand the significance of a wedding would have stepped back. 'I think she should have done the gracious thing to do. But being a pop star, being a celebrity, you know they can't resist their moment in the spotlight,' she said.

Hope also addressed speculation that Victoria may have arranged the moment with Anthony beforehand. 'If it was indeed Marc Anthony's idea or if what many people think he was put up to saying that by Posh, she would've pre-planned all of it,' she said.

When Dolan pressed Hope on whether she believed Victoria could have engineered the controversial moment, the editor confirmed it was 'perfectly possible'. 'She has even said herself in the past, she's never met a dance she doesn't like. So, she will have absolutely, you know, tap danced into that moment,' Hope added.

Media Attention

Dolan characterised Victoria as a possessive mother who may have been reluctant to relinquish her first-born child. However, he noted that if there is a silver lining to the controversy, it is that Victoria will likely dominate headlines for the coming weeks.

Ongoing Family Tensions

The allegations have reignited discussions about the strained relationship between Victoria and her daughter-in-law, with observers suggesting the wedding incident may reflect deeper, long-standing tensions within the Beckham family. Reports of a rift between the two women have circulated since the April 2022 wedding, with sources claiming disagreements emerged over wedding planning decisions, family dynamics, and competing visions for the lavish ceremony.

The public nature of Brooklyn's recent accusations marks a significant escalation from previously speculative reports about fractured family relations. Brooklyn's decision to publicly criticise his mother represents an unprecedented breach in the typically private Beckham family, raising questions about whether reconciliation remains possible.
