Bobby Brown left the audience at a concert stunned, when he seemed to imply that his daughter Bobbi Kristina was out of her coma.

The singer was performing at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas, when he told the crowd: "I can say today. Bobbi is awake. She's watching me."

It was clear, that while Brown was fulfilling long-standing professional commitments, his thoughts were never far from his daughter Bobbi Kristina. But the singer didn't elaborate further on her condition.

The 22-year-old remains in a medically induced coma almost three months since she was found face down and unresponsive in a bath-tub in her family home in Roswell Georgia. She was transferred from the city's Emory University Hospital to a long-term care centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

I can say today. Bobbi is awake. She's watching me.

The incident occurred just weeks before the third anniversary of her mother Whitney Houston's death on February 11, 2012. The singer died in tragically similar circumstances after being discovered unconscious in a bath in a Los Angeles hotel.

Bobbi Kristina's father is said to be holding out hope that his daughter would make a full recovery and is refusing to take her of life-support. The Brown family are embroiled in a feud as to whether to take Bobbi Kristina off life support, wither grandmother Cissy Houston and aunt Pat Houston anxious to bring closure to the family's ongoing trauma. But it is her father who has the final say as to whether Bobbi Kristina is taken off life support.

In the light of recent reports that there is no discernible improvement in her condition, the 46-year-old's latest comments are disconcerting.

The singer was forced to leave his comatose daughter's bedside to fulfil his touring commitments with Treach and Kay Gee of Naughty By Nature in May.

On 11 April he took to the stage of the Soul Food Festival in Los Angeles for his first public appearance since the tragedy occurred. In an emotional outburst during his performance he spoke of the family's ordeal saying: "I dunno what the hell I am going through right now, but I am giving it to God and letting him deal with it."

He was recently spotted with his pregnant wife Alicia Etheredge during an outing in Beverly Hills on 16 April. Bobby and his wife, who are also parents to five-year-old Cassius, announced they were expecting their second child in February.

The singer is also scheduled to leave daughter Bobbi Kristina to tour in Australia.
