Chris Pratt is known as one of Hollywood's good guys, both onscreen and off, so it seemed deserving that the actor was selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. The Guardians Of The Galaxy star cemented his place in filmdom right outside the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles on 21 April and celebrated the honour alongside his wife Anna Faris and their four-year-old son Jack.

"I am humbled. I know it's seen as a token of success and of accomplishment," Pratt said at the event. "To me it means I have the opportunity to hear some of my favourite people in the world say really nice things about me and try to get me to cry in front of 1,000 strangers and it worked."

The 37-year-old's career has been in rocket-mode since landing a role on the hit TV comedy Parks And Recreation in 2009 and later snagging the lead in Guardians and 2015's Jurassic World.

But Pratt was not always sure if he had what it took to be a success in the industry. Variety reported that the actor noticed how big stars were often difficult to work with. "I thought if these are the people who make it out here, I'm kind of screwed. Then I saw, over time, they didn't end up having the best careers after all," he said when asked how he manages to stay level headed despite the fame.

Faris also stepped up to the podium to celebrate her husband's big moment and used it to praise him for being her "rock and anchor", especially during her premature delivery of Jack. "I saw a side of my husband during those times when Jack was in the NICU," she recalled.

An emotional Pratt thanked his wife for the support. "You gave me the greatest star in the galaxy. My little boy. I love him and I love you. We have bonded to make this molecule that is more important to me than air or water," he said.

"Without it none of this means anything to me. You make me laugh like nobody else. You're very caring. Thank you for your trust and sacrifice and for your dedication and your heart."

The actor, who gearing up to star in a yet-untitled Avengers film, is out promoting Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, which releases in the US on 5 May and in the UK on 28 April.

Faris hilariously live tweeted Pratt's preparation for the Walk Of Fame ceremony, showing him practicing some yoga and playing the guitar. Check out the series of tweets below:
