Grand Theft Auto 5, the latest instalment of Rockstar's incredibly popular video game franchise, will be hitting the shelves in the Spring next year. Rockstar officially confirmed that GTA 5 would be released in spring 2013, most likely in either May or June.

The GTA series, which has sold more than 114 million units around the world, are a franchise of open world games where players can explore the city, and has gained controversy for its depiction of violence and adult content.

GTA 5 will be the 15th game in the series overall and will be set in the sprawling metropolis of Los Santos, a fictional city based on modern day Los Angeles. The game is being developed in the UK by developers Rockstar North, who have presided over all previous GTA titles.

Though no exact date has been set for Grand Theft Auto 5, you'll be able to pre-order the game from 5 November.
