Wonder Woman surpassed Deadpool at the local Box Office (North America) 20th Century Fox

Deadpool has no problem being dominated by a woman. He made that pretty clear in the bedroom scenes with his love interest, Copycat (Morena Baccarin).

But it is not only in the bedroom that he does not mind a woman on top. The actor behind the Merc With A Mouth, Ryan Reynolds, shared a very sweet Instagram post to honour Wonder Woman for overtaking Deadpool at the box office. "The Merc May Be Filthier, but Her B.O. is Stronger," he joked on Instagram. "Congrats #WonderWoman #BoxOfficeBoss."

The post included an image of Deadpool's gloved hands that made a heart shape around a Wonder Woman necklace hanging from his neck.

But Reynolds does not have much to worry about despite Wonder Woman's success. While the Patty Jenkins-directed film starring Gal Gadot earned over $368m in North America, surpassing Deadpool's $363m (£286m) in 2016, the Regenerating Degenerate still dominates the global box office with $783m to the Amazon princess' $746m.

While there is still a chance that the DC superhero can gain worldwide dominance as well, there seems to be no ill will between the two. Jenkins responded to Reynold's post with a tweet thanking the actor. "You are the absolute greatest, Ryan Reynolds," she wrote. "Thank you! We love you and your movie too." Gadot also reacted by sharing the image on her Instagram account. "You're the best! Thank you for this.. love you and #Deadpool so much!" she wrote.

The 40-year-old Canadian is currently busy filming Deadpool 2 along with Josh Brolin and the cast from the first film. The movie is expected to release on 1 June, 2018.
