Acer recently announced its first quad-core tablet - the Iconia A510 - powered with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on.

The new tablet comes with the full suite of Polaris Office 3.5, which is compatible with Microsoft Office and will allow users to read and edit documents and allow mobile access to important information. The Acer Iconia A510 also includes Acer Print.

The Acer Iconica Tab A510 is a special Olympic Games Tablet Edition of the Acer Iconia Tab line. The tablet features the Acer and Olympic logos, to celebrate the company's sponsorship of the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games.

Specifications:

Display: The Iconia Tab A510features a 10.1-inch Active matrix TFT color LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels.

Camera: The tablet sports a primary camera of 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and a secondary single megapixel camera in the front, for video calls. The front-facing camera has an improved zoom which makes the camera capable of video conferencing. The primary camera is auto-focusing and snapshots can be taken whilst recording HD video.

Operating System: The tablet is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and, according to the company, been designed to deliver faster browsing, enhanced app use and folder management options and more intuitive navigation and with enhanced holographic effects. The tablet allows users to enjoy improved integration functions with Gmail and calendar functions and improved multitasking.

Processor: It is powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor.

Dimension: The tablet measures 10.2x6.9x0.43 inches and weighs over 24 ounces.

Connectivity: The tablet offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth version 2.1+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate).

Battery life: The tablet runs on a 9800mAh battery. Acer claims this to be one of the highest capacity models in the industry which shows a battery life up to 12 hours of video playback.

Memory Storage: The Acer A510 is packed with features the users want in the tablet. The tablet carries 1GB RAM that contributes to the fast mobile performance. In addition, the internal memory storage of the tablet is 32 GB and supports Micro-SD card.

Price: The tablet is available for pre-sale in the US and Canada at a retail price of $499.99. The two models of the new tablet are the Acer A510-10s32 (silver) and Acer A510-10k32 (black).
