A removed PEGI ratings page for GTA 6 has drawn attention after reportedly outlining graphic violence, cocaine use and strong sexual content Rockstar Games/Official Website

A removed GTA 6 PEGI rating page has attracted attention after reportedly describing graphic violence, cocaine use and strong sexual content.

The detailed page reportedly appeared on 2 October before becoming unavailable. Copies of its wording quickly spread through gaming websites and social media.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

However, IBTimes UK could not independently verify the removed PEGI description against a live version of the page. Its most detailed claims should therefore be treated as reported information rather than confirmed gameplay features.

Reported GTA 6 PEGI Rating Describes Graphic Content

According to reproductions of the removed PEGI listing, GTA 6 was associated with an 18 rating covering violence, sex, drugs and purchases.

The reported description went considerably further than those broad categories. It reportedly described realistic bloody violence and weapons capable of causing detailed decapitation and dismemberment.

The same material said drug use would be frequent and could involve substances carried in the player's inventory.

One widely shared section reportedly said players could carry cocaine and consume it directly from their hand. The original PEGI page containing that wording is no longer publicly available for independent checking.

If authentic, the description would indicate that drug consumption can occur during interactive gameplay. It would not simply be confined to background references or scripted cinematics.

The reported listing also described nudity, intercourse and other strong sexual themes. It reportedly referred to private dances in nightclubs with interactive physical contact.

Those details generated considerable discussion online after copies of the wording spread on 2 October.

One Reddit post reproducing the reported description attracted thousands of upvotes by 3 October. Other discussions focused on whether the violence could resemble the dismemberment systems seen in Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2.

That reaction does not verify the PEGI wording. It does help explain why the removed page became a major talking point among players weeks before launch.

There is also reason to avoid describing the PEGI position as completely settled. Xbox's UK store currently displays a PEGI 18 label as provisional.

The UK PlayStation Store separately lists Drugs, Sexual Content, Extreme Violence, Nudity and In-Game Purchases among the game's content descriptors.

Confirmed GTA 6 Ratings Point To Extensive Mature Content

Other ratings records independently establish that GTA 6 contains substantial mature content, even without relying on the removed PEGI description.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has officially rated Grand Theft Auto VI M for Mature 17+ in North America.

Its descriptors include Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language and Strong Sexual Content. The ESRB also lists Use of Drugs and Alcohol and In-Game Purchases.

Those classifications confirm the game's broad content profile. They do not independently establish the specific reported mechanics involving cocaine, decapitation or nightclub interactions.

Australia's National Classification Database also contains a Grand Theft Auto VI entry dated 27 August 2026.

The entry carries an R18+ classification with the consumer advice 'High impact violence, sex scenes and drug use.' The database categorises that entry as a 'Demonstration (Self Selected)'.

That distinction matters because ratings descriptors should not be stretched beyond what the classification record actually says.

Rockstar has meanwhile continued revealing verified information about Leonida, the fictional state containing Vice City.

Game Informer's September coverage confirmed that the game will contain more than 170 animal species across land, air and water.

The publication also reported that Leonida will experience localised weather, tropical storms and hurricanes. Rockstar provided 12 exclusive screenshots for Game Informer's GTA 6 cover package.

LOVE magazine has separately previewed new images of protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos ahead of its Issue 27 feature.

These official and publisher-backed previews provide a clearer picture of the game before launch. The removed PEGI description remains different because its detailed wording cannot presently be checked at its original location.

Until PEGI or Rockstar republishes or confirms those details, the most graphic claims should remain carefully attributed.
