BLACKPINK is back in the headlines again and trending on X after having confirmed that their third mini-album, titled DEADLINE, will be released on 27 February 2026. The project marks the group's first full-group release since Born Pink arrived in 2022 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Pre-orders and pre-saves for DEADLINE are already live.

The announcement arrived alongside a dramatic visual teaser shared by ROSÉ, JISOO, LISA and JENNIE on social media on 5 February 2026. The image revealed the full tracklist and continued the dark, high-fashion concept introduced in late January. The poster features a desert-like landscape of black, glittering sand beneath a cloudy sky, reinforcing the album's moody aesthetic.

Tracklist And Musical Direction

DEADLINE will feature five tracks, opening with the previously released single JUMP. The title track, GO, follows, alongside Me and my, Champion, and Fxxxboy. Early attention has focused on lyrical lines circulating online, including phrases such as 'hide your man we ain't playing', which have driven discussion around confidence and independence. At the same time, leaks of several tracks have caused frustration among fans concerned about spoilers ahead of release.

A Group Return After Solo Success

The release of DEADLINE follows a period in which each member pursued high-profile solo work. JENNIE released her solo project Ruby, while ROSÉ followed with rosie. LISA released Rockstar, and JISOO focused on acting projects while also launching her own label.

These individual ventures took place after BLACKPINK's Born Pink era concluded and before the group reunited on stage. The members returned as a unit during the DEADLINE World Tour, which began in July 2025 and concluded in January 2026. The tour served as the group's first extended period of joint performances following their solo activities.

Reflections On The Album

ROSÉ offered insight into the creative process behind DEADLINE during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She explained that the album emerged after a year in which the members explored their identities separately before coming back together, adding that she enjoyed the resulting songs.

Acting Projects Alongside Music

Alongside album preparations, LISA and JISOO continue to expand their acting portfolios. Netflix has confirmed that JISOO's romantic comedy series Boyfriend on Demand will premiere on 6 March 2026. She plays a webtoon producer who escapes routine life through a virtual dating simulation that allows her to date imagined partners.

LISA is also developing a new romantic comedy project for Netflix. She is working with executive producer David Bernad, with whom she previously collaborated on The White Lotus season three. Sources indicate the concept was inspired by the film Notting Hill, starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.

Early Reactions And What Comes Next

Online reaction to DEADLINE has been swift, with fans responding to the tracklist, teaser visuals, and confirmation of a firm release date. Excitement has been matched by concern over unauthorised leaks, which emerged shortly after the announcement. Despite this, interest remains high as the release date approaches.

As of now, BLACKPINK have not released further details regarding additional singles or promotional appearances.
