FIFA President Sepp Blatter says that the beautiful game has chipped tooth.

He claims match-fixing is on the rise, and it is undermining the sport.

"Are we responsible for all the evils in our world? No. But we must see to it that we stay alert," said Blatter.

"There is something that is new and concerns the region where we are and that is illegal betting and this leads to match-rigging."

This season Turkish club Fenerbahce were banned from the Champions League.

UEFA, FIFA and Interpol are now using an 'early warning system' that they hope will detect illegal betting patterns.
